High Warmth-to-Weight Performance

Thermore® insulation is engineered to deliver substantial thermal insulation at a remarkably low weight. Its microfibers trap air efficiently, creating thousands of tiny “thermal pockets” that retain body heat.

• Higher loft with less bulk
• Consistent insulation across the entire garment
• Better warmth relative to weight
• High fill power

FILL POWER: Traditionally associated with down, now also used for loose synthetic fillings to indicate how much volume one ounce of fill can occupy once fully expanded. In laboratory testing, the material is placed in a standard cylinder, lightly compressed, and the resulting loft (volume) is measured in cubic inches (CUIN). A higher fill power number reflects greater loft and thermal efficiency, since more air is trapped within the structure. Still, fill power alone does not determine overall warmth (other factors such as the total amount of fill, construction, and fabric design play important roles).
Long-Term Loft Retention

A common issue with synthetic insulation is fiber migration and loss of loft over time. Thermore® tackles this through:

• A stabilized fiber matrix that resists compression
• Cross-linked fibers designed to recover after being packed or folded
• Anti-migration technology that keeps fibers evenly distributed

We test our jackets in the very Gothenburg weather that inspires us—windy, wet, unpredictable. Thermore® fiber padding consistently shows:

• Stable thermal performance even in humid conditions
• Good breathability to prevent overheating

• Reliable insulation even after repeated wear

LOFT: The "puffiness" or thickness of an insulating material, created by countless small air pockets. This trapped air is what provides warmth, as still air is a very effective insulator. A higher loft generally indicates a warmer garment. The fine fibers of an insulation material form air pockets that trap heat, maintain warmth even in damp conditions, and quickly recover loft after compression.
